The accomplishment is the result of an increasing demand for the company’s award-winning Raman spectroscopy-based FirstDefender® and TruScan™ instruments, and it’s most recent product, TruDefender™ FT, which is based on Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Ahura Scientific shipped its first product in May 2005 and reached the shipment of its 2000th unit in October 2008. AstraZeneca PLC, based in France, is the recipient of the 2000th unit, TruScan, for which Ahura Scientific has honored AstraZeneca with a plaque to mark this milestone. AstraZeneca is applying the handheld TruScan solution forentification of incoming raw materials used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.
