Alexeter Technologies LLC Announces Launch of Titan Corp's BIT Decontamination Spray Gun System to the Emergency Response Market

(Wheeling, Illinois) August 18, 2004 - Alexeter Technologies LLC has entered into an agreement to introduce Titan's Binary Ionization Technology (BIT™) Spray Gun Decontamination System to the HAZMAT community. The BIT System utilizes a unique plasma ionization method to deliver highly reactive free-radical peroxides in a mobile, easy to use format. The system can be set up in minutes and provides near instant inactivation of biological toxins, bacteria and viruses. Unlike other systems that utilize chemical detergents or foams, the Titan system employs only a dilute solution of hydrogen peroxide in water. Within 30 seconds of dispensing the ionized peroxide solution spray, the peroxide radicals re-combine to leave only water and oxygen. The result is a near-ideal decontamination product; highly efficient neutralization with little or no clean up.

Alexeter, the developer of the Guardian Reader™ System for detection of biological threats, sees the BIT as aneal complement for the first responder confronted with the need for rapid and effective field decontamination. “After reviewing the technical literature I'm convinced that the BIT system represents the next generation in biological decontamination technology”, stated Dr. Jim Whelan, President of Alexeter. “The key is in the plasma ionization mechanism,” continued Whelan, “that generates a highly-reactive peroxide species which degrades biologicals and then quickly converts to water and O2.” Alexeter plans to offer the BIT system through its established marketing channels and will be providing demonstrations of the technology throughout the remainder of the year's trade show schedule.
