All Hazards Forum Announces Roundtable of State Homeland Security Officials

Rockville, MD- The Mid-Atlantic All Hazards Forum, the only state-endorsed emergency management and homeland security conference dedicated to ensuring the continued safety, preparedness and growth of the region, today announced a roundtable that includes the Homeland Security Directors from seven Mid-Atlantic states as the first keynote session of the conference October 11, 2006 at 8:30 am at the Baltimore Convention Center.  The Directors will discuss regional coordination, state challenges and best practices as it relates to keeping our region safe from all hazards. This one-of-a-kind meeting between high ranking state officials from Maryland, Virginia, D.C., Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and West Virginia will kick off a conference full of useful, up-to-date information for emergency management and homeland security officials throughout the Mid-Atlantic states.  Now in its third year, the AHF Executive Program Committee organized the conference by interest area or pillars.  The pillars are:  Emergency Response, Public Safety Communication, Information Sharing and Intelligence, Border and Transportation Secu rity, Law Enforcement, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Health and Medical Readiness, and Grants.   Additional highlights of the 2006 program include:
  • Mid-Atlantic Evacuation Plan Coordination
  • Mid-Atlantic Preparations for a Regional Pandemic
  • Urban Area Emergency Preparedness
  • Community Emergency Response Teams and Citizen Corps and their role in Emergency Response
  • Regional Fusion Centers and their role in Preparedness
  • Risk Assessment of Critical Infrastructure
