Rockville, MD – Organizers of the Mid-Atlantic All Hazards Forum (AHF) announced today a multi-year commitment from the newly formed All Hazards Consortium to support the annual conference. The All Hazards Consortium is a 501 c3 non-profit organization of Mid-Atlantic regional state governments, universities and industry developed to provide support to homeland security and emergency management efforts.“This is the beginning of a great partnership,” said AHC Board Member James “Smokey” Stanton, Senior Emergency Manager with the Battelle Memorial Institute.  “The All Hazards Forum is the single-best annual opportunity for government, private industry, research institutions, and non-governmental agencies from across the Mid-Atlantic region to meet and exchangeeas, strategies, and areas of concern or interest. At the Consortium, we consider the activity at the Forum an essential to helpentify priorities and bring an interstate and regional focus to our emergency preparedness efforts.  We look forward to sponsoring the event, and continuing the partnership.”“We are extremely pleased to work with the All Hazards Consortium,” said Barbara Childs-Pair, Emergency Management Director for the District of Columbia. “Our goals and mission are a great fit, and I believe we’ll achieve remarkable progress in the safety and security of residents in the Mid-Atlantic region as a result of the collaboration.”The terms of today’s deal included an agreement to sponsor AHF; the Consortium’s involvement in program services, outreach and promotion as well as assistance in the development program content and agenda items at the Forum; and the Consortium agreed to hold a regional meeting during AHF.Focusing on all three phases of a hazard; readiness, response and recovery, the mission of AHF is to help build communication and relationships between the states in the mid-Atlantic region (Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey and North Carolina) through a year round program of sustained interactions between its stakeholders. The All Hazards Forum provides the demand for government, industry, universities and non-profits to meet face-to-face. This year’s forum is scheduled for October 10-12, 2006 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The AHF is the only state-endorsed emergency management and homeland security conference and exhibition dedicated to ensuring the continued safety, preparedness and growth of the Mid-Atlantic region. No other regional forum exists to connect, educate, equip, train, and motivate state and local homeland security planners and practitioners to preserve our freedoms and protect our region. For more information about the AHF, go to www.allhazardsforum.com.Contact:Susan MumaPhone: (301) 651-4916
