Students can begin training this fall for a career in intelligence analysis through a new program at Anne Arundel Community College. The Maryland Higher Education Commission has approved a certificate program in Intelligence Analytics that will help prepare graduates to work as intelligence analysts in homeland security. The college began offering courses in intelligence analytics in fall 2006. Interest in those courses, plus the projection for workforce demands, led the college to develop an entire program in intelligence analytics, which will be offered in fall 2007.Courses cover topics such as intelligence support to policymakers and the military, intelligence and U.S. national security and security challenges in the 21st century.Students completing the program will receive a certificate and can take advantage of a seamless transfer program with the University of Baltimore and articulation agreements with other universities and colleges. The commission also approved a request to designate the program as statewide.
