AristaTek, Inc. Offers Complimentary Service/Software Update to Increase EPCRA Compliance

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Aristatek, Inc, a leading provider of hazardous materials planning and response solutions, is offering a complimentary service for community’s interested in analyzing the self-reported data of fixed facilities storing hazardous materials. The company will offer this service at no cost to EPCRA administrators, Hazmat teams, fire departments/fire marshals, or any other public safety/health professionals to determine the completeness and accuracy of their submitted Tier II forms from facilities.  The service is being offered as a promotion for the company’s latest release of their leading PEAC-WMD software, which now incorporates EPCRA Tier II data into it’s already industry leading hazmat response solution.  The complimentary service can be requested at the Company’s web site (www.aristatek.com).

The Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) mandates that fixed facilities storing threshold quantities of hazardous materials self-report these inventories and quantities using the EPCRA Tier II form.  This data is collected by Local Emergency Planning Commissions (LEPCs) and State Emergency Response Commissions (SERCs) yearly.  EPCRA also mandates that LEPCs and SERCs use this reported data to write emergency plans to protect the public from chemical accidents as well as establish procedures to warn and, if necessary, evacuate the public in case of an emergency.

In an effort to help promote their latest PEAC-WMD software upgrade, AristaTek’s is offering a new ‘Tier II Analysis Service’.  The service is designed to help EPCRA administrators understand if their facility self-submitted data is complete and accurate, or whether it contains excessive errors and omissions which may necessitate a closer review of their submissions.

“We decided to offer this service after reviewing close to 70,000+ Tier II facility submissions as part of our software development ,” state Bruce King, CEO of AristaTek.  “So many facilities tend to leave out critical pieces of information or incorrectly spell and label items.  Our customers had noea their data was so bad.”

The service takes all the EPCRA Tier II data from an entire community and runs it through and an automated process which verifies each data field has been completed, confirms chemical names against the company’s vast hazmat substance database and verifies proper ifications are made for things like ‘extremely hazardous substances’ (EHS).  A report is then generated that details the collective number of omissions and errors in each field giving administrators anea of the quality of their overall data.

“This free service will really help LEPC’s, SERC’s and local administrators understand if the data that is being submitted needs further review,” continues King.  “We felt like this would be a useful service to communities and a great way for us to promote our PEAC-WMD upgrade.”

At the request of many of their existing customers, and in an effort to aid communities to fulfill their EPCRA mandate, AristaTek Inc. has upgraded its PEAC-WMD software to incorporate Tier II data.  The software allows the user to look up Tier II reporting facilities and view their associated chemical inventories inside their industry leading platform.  The facility data is fully integrated into the PEAC-WMD software allowing the user to access its vast technical reference resources, modeling capabilities and new custom matrices for threats and quantities.

“There is not a more powerful solution available for emergency planning and response for fixed facilities containing hazardous materials,” continues King.  “We have taken the utility of our PEAC-WMD software to the next level by incorporating this Tier II data.”

About AristaTek Formed in 1999 by four chemists and engineers who conducted field scale research studies at the Nevada Test Site’s Hazmat Spill Center (HSC) mandated by the 1986 Superfund and Reauthorization Act (SARA) and the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) during the 1990’s, AristaTek has become a leading provider of CBRNE and HAZMAT response and planning solutions to the civilian and military market. PEAC-WMD™, AristaTek’s leading software product, assists in response efforts by consolidating CBRNE & HAZMAT technical reference sources and automating stand-off distance modeling and communication of incident data.  The PEAC® software is the industry-standard in the CBRNE & HAZMAT response community, supporting critical CBRNE units such as the National Guard Civil Support Teams (CST), the United States Air Force (USAF) and countless civilian responders worldwide.
