Avon Protection is supporting the commercial success of its new generation 50 series of CBRN masks and SCBA systems with a series of global customer training contracts. To date Avon has completed FM53 training programmes for select military and security units for the Danish military, the Sultanate of Brunei, Thailand and in Singapore. Further programmes are planned for Avon military customers in Australia and the Middle East.
Aimed at both ground defence forces and their military equipment training units equipped with 50 series masks and SCBA respirator systems, Avon’s new training programmes includes all aspects of CBRN mask usage, from sizing, rapid donning and doffing, through to maintenance and storage.
Avon is launching its training programme to support and strengthen its customer after-sales service. And because of its sizeable customer base, which includes over 50 CBRN national military and civil defence programmes, training support will initially target the many fighting forces that would rely on Avon’s mask protection in the face of a chemical agent hazard.
The Avon training programme is operating globally at two levels. The first is an operative training course, for up to 10 students, which is tailored for initial product fielding and use. This focuses on the end user perspective and includes exercises on fast and efficient donning, cleaning, maintenance and storage; all vital aspects to ensure full safety and protection to prolong mask lifetime efficiency.
The second tier of its training programme provides for whole life maintenance and servicing. This is planned to enable Avon to build up a global network of national service centres, and will focus on equipment requirements, detailed training servicing schedules, service and maintenance tooling, product testing requirements and test equipment training. Both plans are supported with student notes and product training DVD’s, where applicable.
