BioFire Defense LLC (http://www.biofiredefense.com) recently announced that Christina Flowers was appointed as the new U.S. Sales Account Manager to help expand their portfolio in the military, public health, first responder, and private specialty markets throughout the United States. In this role, she will be responsible for managing all government commercial sales for biological defense and biosurveillance efforts, and assisting members of the defense community in the field with their biothreat preparedness and business development needs. “BioFire Defense has always been the industry leader in innovation and forward-thinking within these sectors, so I am privileged to be a part of this team. Having even a small role in ensuring the safety and security of our nation’s warfighters, first responders, and private citizens is such an incredible honor.”
For the past seven years, Christina served as a Sales Manager in both the biosurveillance and clinical diagnostics market place with BioFire Diagnostics. Here, she supplied solutions to field forces and mobile laboratories for biothreat detection, and then with moderate-to-high complexity hospital laboratories for syndromic respiratory disease, sepsis, and gastrointestinal infection diagnosis. She was also instrumental in BioFire Defense’s clinical roll-out of the BT-E, Emergency Use Authorized Ebola test last fall, used for emergency in-vitro diagnosis of the Ebola Zaire virus.* Prior to her time with BioFire, she was an Emergency Planner for the Virginia State Department of Health, and provided technical laboratory assistance during the 2002 Anthrax attacks. She also possesses a wealth of experience in grants management, and has both organized and participated in a number of emergency preparedness and response efforts and exercises across the country. Christina has a Masters of Public Health (MPH) advanced degree, as well as a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology. Other professional certifications have included tropical and emerging vector-borne infectious diseases, and Level-1 Hazmat Instructor. She is currently based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
Matt Scullion, VP of Sales and Marketing said: “We are very fortunate and excited to have Christina as part of the BioFire Defense team.
