Bruker Hires Samuel Menasha as Project Manager for U.S. Navy's Improved Point Detection System Replacement Program

Samuel D. Menasha has joined Bruker Detection Corporation to lead the IPDS project. Prior to joining Bruker, Mr. Menasha gained experience working on complex military projects for EM4 Defense Inc., FiberSense and GE Aircraft Engines. He will manage the Improved Point Detector System Replacement Program for the US Navy and other selected complex contracts within Bruker Detection.

On June 25, 2009 Bruker Detection Corporation announced that it has been awarded a contract for ten (10) first article test and verification units for the Improved Point Detection System (IPDS) replacement program of the United States Navy, based on Bruker’s RAID™-S2 shipboard chemical detector. The award includes ten units and certain engineering modifications, with a total contract amount greater than one million dollars.

Bruker’s RAID-S2 is a gas trace detector for the detection of chemical warfare agents (CWAs) and toxic industrial chemicals (TICs). It is based on advanced high-performance ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) technology.
