Bruker's RAID-XP Receives Designation from the Department of Homeland Security

Bruker Daltonics NBC Detection Corp., a Massachusetts corporation, provides the Rapid Alarm andentification Device (RAID) - XP, a portable device which is designed to provide law enforcement personnel, homeland security personnel, and first responders, with a means of detecting and responding to terrorist attacks as well as other incidents involving exposure to chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, and radiological agents. The RAID-XP is a combination of two Bruker Daltonics' CBRN instruments previously developed and manufactured by Bruker Daltonics: (1) the SVG2 radiation survey instrument for gamma radiation detection, and (2) the SAFETY Act Designated and Certified RAID-M hand-held chemical detector. The combination of these technologies allows users of the RAID-XP to

  • rapidlyentify over 20 chemicals agents as well as provide real-time gamma radiation readings
  • monitor critical infrastructure for chemical vapor and radiation
  • monitor hazmat sites or other contaminated areas on a 24/7 basis, for up to six months at a time without changing filters.
