August 2005 – EMATEX provides the necessary materials, services, advice and functional support to design, conduct and carry out medical “All Hazard” assessments and training within hospitals, public health systems or any health related facility . This program provides a truly measurable enhanced system of emergency management and public health safety to meet the needs of your community. The EMATEX program allows the client many proven methods to implement their long-term medical preparedness program objectives within their clinical and non-clinical areas.
EAI is presently utilizing the EMATEX program for a 44-hospital emergency medical preparedness analysis within New York City. Sanctioned by the New York City Department of Public Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMA), EAI is working closely with the New York hospitals, to implement a comprehensive, customer focused medical assessment and analysis, that will meet or exceed JACHO hospital emergency preparedness standards. The EMATEX process, pinpoints over 460 critical emergency preparedness factors within a health care environment. This program also provides an After Action Report (AAR), with recommendations for improvement and implementation of all findings. At this time, the NYC results have validated the need for procurement of improved disaster preparedness equipment, as well as training, to assist the healthcare community in their response to CBRNE threats.
