EAI TEAM Wins Department of Homeland Security Training Contract

(MAY 7, 2004) - EAI Corporation, a subsidiary of GEO-CENTERS, INC., was awarded a $132,000,000 five year contract to provide all training services at the Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, Alabama. The CDP, an element of the Office for Domestic Preparedness, is the nation’s premier training center for emergency responder training. This award enables EAI to continue its training role that began when the Center opened in 1998.

Under this contract, EAI will support the CDP with the development and delivery of advanced hands-on Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) training to first responders. The training responders receive at the CDP, including activities in a live chemical warfare agent facility, result in their enhanced preparedness, performance and confidence in responding to a WMD incident.

President Thomas Albro stated “EAI is extremely pleased with this award and the opportunity to continue our contribution to homeland security as the trainer at the nation’s premier WMD Civilian Responder Training Center.”

Headquartered in Abingdon, Maryland, EAI has a staff of 400 at twelve sites nationwide. EAI is a leader in homeland security solutions with major strengths in chemical and biological research, engineering, assessments, training services and providing specialized equipment to federal, state and local agencies and private clients.
