ENCRYPTX Corporation (a BeCompliant Company), a leading provider of data security and policy management solutions for removable storage devices, today announced that its UltraLock and SecurMedia products (now called DeviceDefender™) have been approved by the Department of Defense DARTT team and are now included on the DoD SmartBuy Contract (#FA8771-07-A-0302) through Rocky Mountain RAM. The products are also available on the GSA Schedule (#GS-35-0307N). The DoD Data-at-Rest Tiger Team (DARTT) was developed in 2007 to address technical requirements and the contract provides a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to selected technology companies for government buyers.
DeviceDefender and UltraLock provide affordable, transparent and controllable detection, management and encryption of PC removable drives and media. The software installs on a PC or Server and automatically detects any removable drives or media. If allowed, the device is automatically encrypted using FIPS 140-2 Level 1 certified AES encryption. If not allowed, the drive is automatically blocked. An optional Administrator control application allows IT staff to set policies regarding the use of removable devices, track devices in use and their contents, allow or disallow offline or out of network usage, and dynamically revoke access to a lost or stolen drive.
UltraLock and DeviceDefender provides portable encryption/decryption for devices used on different PCs via a drive-installed application. To protect against the introduction of viruses and malware, both applications offer an integrated McAfee Anti-Virus and Malware scanning agent. DeviceDefender initiates the scan from the original PC while UltraLock features a portable on-drive McAfee Anti-Virus and Malware scanning agent.
"Our new integration with McAfee in DeviceDefender and UltraLock is a result of feedback from our enterprise users and meetings with the US Department of Defense DARTT team, the group responsible for the approval of security products used within the DOD and federal government agencies," remarked David Duncan, president of ENCRYPTX. "Our relationship with Rocky Mountain RAM has strongly propelled our products into the US Government user community. We greatly appreciate all the support that was provided to us by members of the DARTT team and by Rocky Mountain RAM, our sponsoring contract holder."
Lisa Schaeffer, CEO of Rocky Mountain RAM stated, "Rocky Mountain RAM provides a comprehensive portfolio of security products including secure USB drives, removable hard drives, full disk encryption products and now removable device security products from ENCRYPTX. We believe the ENCRYPTX product line represents not only the most robust, but the most cost effective products for removable device security and control for government buyers."
ENCRYPTX and Rocky Mountain RAM will be demonstrating DeviceDefender and UltraLock at FOSE 2009 Conference and Exposition, March 10-12th, Booth #1022 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC. FOSE is the largest trade show for government technology professionals, for more information visit www.fose.com.
