Washington, DC-August 30, 2004--Equity International hosted The Critical Infrastructure Protection Briefing, held on August 24, 2004, at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The briefing featured panels of top government officials and private business executives who discussed the recent terror alert and their various responses to the heightened level of security. More than 100 government and military officials were in attendance. The Keynote Address was given by D. Scott Parsons, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Critical Infrastructure Protection and Compliance Policy of the U.S. Treasury Department, which was broadcast on C-SPAN.
The panels from the briefing included Government and Business Response to the Recent Terror Alert, Technology Response to the Recent Terror Alert, and Risk Management for Critical Infrastructure. Mark Dozier, Chief of the Office of Domestic Preparedness Department of Homeland Security; Rear Admiral Tom Steffens; Principal Technical Director for Homeland Security with Anteon Corporation; and William Vorlicek, Director of Kroll's Emergency Management Group; are just a few of the prestigious speakers who presented at the Critical Infrastructure Briefing.
