CHANTILLY, VA – First Line Technology, LLC, an ISO 9001:2008-certified manufacturer and supplier of Out of the Box Solutions, announced continued expansion as the company begins selling products from CBI Polymers, Inc., the creators of DeconGel™, as part of the First Line Technology Decon Family, which also includes FiberTect® (First Line Technology sole source) and RSDL® (Bracco Diagnostics).
“DeconGel is a natural addition to the First Line Decon Family, having been proven highly effective during the ongoing nuclear clean-up at Fukushima (Japan),” said First Line Technology Vice President Randy Sakowitz. “DeconGel adds to the continually expanding First Line Technology Decon Family by contributing yet another product that minimizes hazardous waste and reduces the personnel burden while decreasing the cost of safe, effective decontamination.”
First Line Technology already offers a variety of decontamination products that are designed for use in decontaminating personnel, weapons, and sensitive equipment, but is proud to announce the addition of DeconGel for use in the decontamination of infrastructure from Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) contamination.
DeconGel is a one component sprayable hydrogel that effectively decontaminates a broad range of surfaces and 3-D objects including concrete, steel, painted or unpainted surfaces, glove boxes, hoods, casks, and other everyday items. DeconGel’s extraordinary binding properties trap and encapsulate a wide spectrum of radioisotopes and chemicals in a simple, no-preparation process, allowing easy and safe disposal and First Line could not be happier to be offering it for sale to the public. It can also be used routinely for monthly cleaning in place of power washing.
“We are pleased to be partnering with First Line Technology, a company widely respected as an innovative decontamination solutions provider,” said CBI Polymer President for Government and Defense Larry Stack. “DeconGel is proven to have outstanding efficacy in mitigating CBRN contamination and First Line’s presence and expertise in the first responder and military markets makes this aneal alliance.”
The First Line Decon Family includes FiberTect, an activated wipe for sensitive equipment, people, and weapons; RSDL (Reactive Skin Decontamination Lotion), which is cleared for use by the FDA for use on skin; and DeconGel, a peelable polymer for infrastructure and fixation. With the growing Decon Family, First Line will be able to help first responders and military develop disaster preparedness plans and respond to both manmade and natural disasters effectively, efficiently, and innovatively.
