In today's environment, it is crucial for states to work together and with localities, federal agencies and others to prepare for and respond to all types of hazards. One of the challenges facing states is to find the time and resources needed to support the necessary planning, training, and operational needs that may be required to prepare for critical incidents. In addition to government's cooperation with each other, there is also a need for the private sector and non-profit organizations to participate in these efforts. It is only when all stakeholders involved in the hazard come together in ongoing discussions and action that true regional preparedness can be achieved. Through regional planning initiatives in which all organizations are welcome, relationships develop which create an environment of trust, in turn fostering effective and meaningful coordination and collaboration. Within this spirit, The All Hazards Consortium was formed. Join the leaders of The All Hazards Consortium for an informative Web seminar discussion sponsored by IBM on how your region can work together to address the complex issues around emergency management and homeland security. After the Web seminar, you will receive a copy of the 2006 Mid-Atlantic All Hazards Forum Report. This report clearly communicates the issues and strategies in emergency preparedness and response management, as well as best practices and lessons learned from real crisis situations.
