GE Security Announces ReaderKEY2, Newest Addition to RISCO Electronic Lockbox System

Bradenton, Fla. - GE Security, Inc., a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of the General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE), today announced the availability of the new ReaderKEY2, a reliable, easy-to-use wireless lockbox key that allows real estate agents to receive automatic updates on showing activity through the Internet. Part of the RISCO electronic lockbox system, the new ReaderKEY2 handheld device connects to a computer through a USB cable and uploads real estate showing activities to the ORIONWeb database for easy online reporting without having to read the lockbox directly. "GE Security's launch of ReaderKEY2 is part of our commitment to developing new, integrated solutions to help real estate agents provide higher quality service to their clients," said Jeff Antrican, vice president, GE Security's commercial real estate business. "The new features included with ReaderKEY2 will allow those in the real estate sector to be more efficient and productive, giving them access to critical showing information much more quickly than in the past." Additional ReaderKEY2 features include:

  • An easy-to-read, backlit LCD screen;
  • Customizable pin and shackle code;
  • Small size and convenient (easily fits in pocket or keychain); and
  • Optional call-before-showing features.

Earlier this month, 12,000 real estate agents in Salt Lake City, Utah, upgraded to ReaderKEY2.
