HAZMATCAD Plus HOMELAND SECURITY TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION TESTING COMPLETED

Bowling Green, KY 1 December, 2004 Microsensor Systems, Inc, a leader in surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology for the detection of chemical warfare agents (CWAs), today announced successful completion of an independent, homeland security technology verification test of its HAZMATCAD Plus gas detector. The comprehensive CWA and TIC (toxic industrial chemical) testing was conducted by Battelle for the EPAs Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program (www.epa.gov/etv).

The ETV Program develops testing protocols and verifies the performance of innovative technologies that have the potential to improve the protection of human health and the environment. ETV was created to accelerate the entrance of new environmental technologies into the domestic and international marketplace.

The HAZMATCAD Plus portable detector uses hybrid technology, SAW and electrochemical (EC), for simultaneous detection of CWAs and toxic industrial chemicals, respectively. This testing provides a comprehensive verification of the detection standards advertised by MSI for the HAZMATCAD, particularly with regard to TICs.
