Dublin, Ohio: Matt A. Mayer, the former head of the $3.5 billion office charged with working with state and local governments to prepare for terrorism, as well as a policy and operational advisor to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), today launched Provisum Strategies LLC (www.provisumstrategies.com), a Dublin-based strategic consulting firm that concentrates on homeland security issues.
“Given all of the moving pieces in this unpredictable environment, the homeland security market has a tremendous need for both strategic and tactical advice,” Mayer said.
Mayer aims to work with both public and private sector entities both inside and outside of Washington, D.C., as well as internationally. “I can help public sector clients enhance the critical capabilities they need to make America a safer place to live and work.” With his expertise in transportation and global supply chain security, as well as critical infrastructure protection, he also can assist private sector companies navigate the homeland security market both as vendors and regulated entities.
Provisum Strategies services will include providing clients with preparedness strategy and planning, state and local grants, exercise and training, critical infrastructure protection, crisis management and emergency response, immigration and border security, global supply chain security, and transportation security; helping clients understand DHS; advising clients on homeland security acquisitions and investments; working with clients to develop the right message to enhance market penetration; and serving as a general source of information on homeland security for clients.
Previously, Mayer served as Lockheed Martin’s Director of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C. Prior to working at DHS, Mayer served Colorado Governor Bill Owens as the Deputy Director of the Department of Regulatory Agencies, and practiced law in both Colorado and Ohio. In September 2005, The Ohio State University Alumni Association awarded Mayer the William Thompson Oxley Award for early career achievement. Mayer is also a German Marshall Fund American Marshall Memorial Fellow, and was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as one of Colorado’s young leaders. Mayer has published several public policy articles, and has co-hosted several policy roundtables involving stakeholders on matters ranging from the intersection of homeland security and the private sector to the impact the Federal Communication Commission’s Triennial Review would have on telecommunications investment and activities.
Mayer currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Public Health Foundation, and as an Adjunct Professor at The Ohio State University. Mayer is a double-major honors graduate from the University of Dayton, and earned a law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law.
