HSMI Offering Free Citizen Preparedness Training Program

The Homeland Security Management Institute (HSMI) of Monroe Community College is offering a two-hour free training course entitled “Citizen Preparedness Program”. Extreme events –droughts, wildfires, tornadoes, floods, heat waves, fierce storms and blizzards. Yet, the great majority of our citizens are not prepared to respond to natural disasters, man-made threats, or pandemic events.

The Citizen Preparedness Program is being offered with the goal of helping citizens preserve life and minimize injuries sustained in a disaster. The course is intended to train citizens on how to protect themselves and their families by knowing what to do before, during and after a disaster event.

The Homeland Security Management Institute (HSMI) at Monroe Community College is a resource for communities and their first responders for the national agenda of homeland security.
