Thirteen of those years were spent in ever-increasing management positions within the international, domestic, and weapons of mass destruction (WMD) terrorism programs. Mr. Blitzer held significant crisis management roles during every major case that the FBI handled from the 1988 bombing of Pan Am 103 to the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in East Africa.
Additionally, Mr. Blitzer served as deputy assistant secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services, where he was responsible for public health and medical response to natural and terrorist disasters.
