ICx Technologies Introduces identiFINDER 2

ARLINGTON, Va. – ICx Technologies, Inc., recently acquired by FLIR Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: FLIR), announced today the introduction of the next generation of its world-leading radiation detector, theentiFINDER® 2.  The updated handheld radio-isotopeentification device (RIID) provides the same, relied upon detection and finding capabilities as the previous system with improvedentification and several added features.

There are currently over 10,000entiFINDERs deployed worldwide.  ICx used the valuable input from many of its long time customers to develop new features while maintaining the same, relied upon functionality of the previous instrument.  The new instrument builds on the same easy to use, three button interface current customers rely on and adds improved nuclideentification, transflective color display for ease of viewing in bright sunlight, Bluetooth®, reachback and GPS capabilities as well as a web interface.

"The threat from illicit nuclear material continues to require state-of-the-art detection technology," said Juergen Stein, president of the radiation detection business units of ICx Technologies. "With the introduction of theentiFINDER 2, we are re-affirming our commitment to addressing our customers’ needs and maintaining the place that theentiFINDER holds as best-in- radiation detection andentification technology.”

InitialentiFINDER 2 products will be available with a 1.4” x 2” NaI(Tl) detector and optional neutron detector in the standard version or as an ULTRA model with LED stabilization.  Additional models will be rolled out over the coming months.

To see theentiFINDER 2 in action, visit the ICx Technologies booths at IEEE 2010 Nuclear Science Symposium exhibition in Knoxville, TN, November 2-4, and at CBRNe Convergence in Orlando, FL, November 3-4.  For more information on ICx radiation detection andentification technologies, visit www.icxt.com.
