ICx Technologies Provided Key Equipment to Enhance Security at Super Bowl XLII

WASHINGTON – ICx Technologies (NASDAQ: ICXT), a developer of advanced sensor technologies for homeland security, force protection and commercial applications, announced today that two of its SkyWatch Surveillance Towers and six of its high-resolution, short-range, continuous-scan radars will be used at Super Bowl XLII for enhanced security. The Tower’s mobility, combined with the small size and lightweight nature of the STS-350 radars, makes them easy to use to strengthen security at virtually any type of mass event. SkyWatch Towers have been employed at diverse venues including the Mardi Gras, the (tennis) U.S. Open and the Macy’s Parade in New York City, plus at several NBA and NFL games. “Law enforcement agencies that have added SkyWatch report an almost instantaneous reduction in crime. Surveillance, deterrence and mobility are the key to this success,” said Rick Mannello, ICx’ group vice president, Surveillance. In 2007 alone, more than 25 different law enforcement agencies — in cities from New York City, Dallas, Charlotte, to Memphis — purchased SkyWatch Towers. In addition to law enforcement, SkyWatch is now on duty in U.S. military installations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay; 100 of the units stand guard on the U.S./Mexico border. Besides the Towers, six STS-350 High Resolution, Frequency Modulated Continuous Scan Radars will are providing constant, overlapping coverage to monitor and further secure the Super Bowl’s Perimeter. The radars’ all-weather, all light-level capabilities and unique resolution allow it to detect and automatically track moving and stationary targets. With more than 1,000 deployed radars and 400,000 successful hours of operation, ICx is a world leader in integrated radar solutions for advanced perimeter security.
