Frederica, DE—ILC Dover, the company that manufactures spacesuits for NASA, announced today they received NIOSH approval on an alkaline battery pack assembly for their Sentinel XL™ PAPR.  The Alkaline Battery Pack comes with 5 “D” size Duracell Batteries and can be used with either the Sentinel CBRN or Sentinel HP systems and is designed to function with existing fielded units or newly purchased systems.

These latest additions to our Sentinel system build on proven ILC Dover technology in creating military and civilian gas masks, such as the M40 for the military and the SCape® CBRN30 NIOSH approved Air-Purifying Escape Mask.  The latter has been chosen as the Escape Mask of choice by a number of key U.S. Government agencies.
