Winston Salem, NC – InterAct Public Safety Systems, a leading provider of safety and security software used by government agencies as well as private sector businesses, announced that it performed ground breaking tests of Next Generation 9-1-1 infrastructure at last month’s inaugural NG9-1-1 Industry Collaboration Event hosted by the National Emergency Number Association (NENA). This milestone sets the stage for a standards-based, multimedia 9-1-1 system to replace today’s 9-1-1 systems.
InterAct Public Safety Systems demonstrated that it was able to receive computer aided dispatch (CAD) calls via an IP interface from multiple Next Generation PSAP controllers located in different parts of the U.S. These calls automatically generated a CAD incident with appropriate data, and the associated incident location on the online map.
As a member of the NENA Next Generation Partner Program, InterAct Public Safety Systems has also successfully tested its products with SolaCom and Emergency CallWorx 9-1-1 phone controllers. The company has long been known for bringing seamless interoperability across hundreds of third-party products. This latest test further demonstrates the company’s ability to achieve this interoperability in the world of NG9-1-1.
“Agencies across the country are anxiously awaiting the availability of NG9-1-1 capabilities to strengthen public safety,” said Andrew J. “Flip” Filipowski, executive chairman and chief executive officer of InterAct. “Our latest NG9-1-1 demonstration validations that NG9-1-1 capabilities are close at hand. We will continue to work hand in hand with NENA to help set standards and create new features that further our clients’ mission.”
