Lessons Learned Information Sharing (LLIS.gov) would like to announce the addition of two new topic-specific pages, which explore Radiological Dispersal Devises and issues related to School Emergency Planning. In response to terrorist organizations’ interests in developing and employing “dirty bombs,” LLIS.gov has developed the Radiological Dispersal Devise (RDD) page to provide emergency response planners with RDD and relevant radiological incident response documents, plans, and studies. LLIS.gov encourages you to submit your own RDD-related plans, reports, or other documents to RDD@llis.dhs.gov.Additionally, the new School Emergency Planning page houses a wealth of resources on the topic of school safety and emergency planning, including after-action reports, documents, templates, plans, related links, recent news, upcoming conferences, and more. As this issue remains unfortunately prominent in daily life, the School Emergency Planning page’s materials are particularly relevant. LLIS.gov encourages you to submit your own school safety-related plans, reports, or other documents to schoolsafety@llis.dhs.gov.LLIS.gov is the Department of Homeland Security's national, online network of lessons learned and best practices for the emergency response and homeland security communities. This initiative, sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security’s Preparedness Directorate and the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism (MIPT), helps emergency response providers and homeland security officials prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from all-hazards. LLIS.gov helps to improve homeland security and emergency preparedness nationwide by providing local, state, and federal responders with a wealth of information and frontline expertise on effective planning, training, and operational practices across homeland security functional areas.
