Alexandria, VA - Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Division of Emergency Management/911 (Lexington, KY) has selected Previstar's Comprehensive Emergency Management Planner (CEMPlanner™ to help update their emergency operations plan. The Division will utilize the system to help further align their plan with the Department of Homeland Security's National Response Framework, in particular, converting their annex based plan to an Emergency Support Function (ESF) based emergency operations plan.
"We wanted a cost effective system that would help us facilitate the planning process, provide flexibility to meet our jurisdictional needs, and allow us to more easily update and maintain our plan over time," said Doreen Birkholz, LFUCG's CEMPlanner lead system user. "We get these capabilities and more in a system that our staff has found straightforward and easy to use."
CEMPlanner™ is a web based emergency planning system that brings planners together on a collaborative platform and facilitates the planning process (based on FEMA's Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG-101)) to create and maintain standards based plans. Plans can be accessed online or downloaded into a printable format.
The system provides an affordable way to create plans (EOP, COOP, Pandemic Flu, Exercise Plans, etc), reduce formatting time, increase stakeholder participation, and eliminate "headaches" caused by document version control complications.
In addition to Emergency Operations Plans, CEMPlanner™ has also been used for Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) planning for the state of New Mexico, and exercise planning at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
