Marlink's (A Subsidiary of Telenor Satellite Service) Online Account Management Tool Launches New Cost-Saving Features

OSLO, Norway and ROCKVILLE, Maryland -- Marlink, a subsidiary of Telenor Satellite Services, today commercially launched a series of customer cost-saving enhancements to MarlinkOnline, its industry-leading account management tool for mobile communications via satellite.

The enhancements, previewed this past June at the Norshipping 2005 International Maritime Conference and Exhibition, feature "MyAccount" and "MarlinkOnboard."

"MyAccount," is a new feature that permits account owners and managers to have detailed overview of account information about satellite terminals, billing options, and specific services and pricing contracted with Marlink. With account information updated every 24 hours, "MyAccount" is a helpful tool allowing communications managers to more closely manage communications budgets and re-billing to specific vessels and users.

"MarlinkOnboard" is a new remote module which provides a lighter, easy to deploy offline version of Marlink's account management tool. MarlinkOnboard permits remote users located aboard vessels at sea or operating at remote camps to view their call records within 48 hours after calls are made. The local communication manager can then assign calls to be re-billed to crew or charterers and print receipts for payments received for calls made locally. The tool is designed to reduce the time it takes the communications managers to calculate crew salaries at the end of each month or when crew are about to leave the ship.

MarlinkOnline is a password protected self-service tool designed to give easy online access to Marlink communications services and accounts. It empowers both maritime and land-based customers to more directly manage their communications usage, costs and resources over the Internet.

Designed to serve a truly international customer base, MarlinkOnline instructions are available in eight languages: English, Dutch, German, Greek, Norwegian, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese. By using MarlinkOnline, a customer can set up an account that provides online access to billing information, cost analysis, and a range of services available from all of Marlink's multi-partner operators.

Marlink is a subsidiary of Telenor Satellite Services and is part of Telenor ASA of Norway, listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (TEL) and NASDAQ (TELN).
