Meridian Rapid Defense Group's Archer 1000 Barrier Accredited by the United States Department of State with a K4 Level 3 Vehicle Anti-Ram Rating
PASADENA, Calif. – Meridian Rapid Defense Group LLC announced today that the United States Department of State has certified the Archer 1000 Barrier with a K4 Level 3 vehicle crash rating, a standard that requires that the barrier stop a 15,000 pound truck traveling at an average of 30mph when rammed. Unlike other K4 rated barriers, the Archer 1000 Barrier is a portable, rapidly deployed system that can be moved and installed by small teams with minimal equipment. The Archer 1000 also offers exceptional ballistic capabilities in combat situations and can be configured in a variety of formations and heights depending on the requirements. The K4 test was performed at KARCO Engineering, an approved U.S. Department of State testing facility located in Adelanto, California. The Archer 1000 Barriers were set up in a double row configuration, with seven barriers in front and five in back, each with a single self-augering anchor holding it in place. The truck achieved a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour when it struck the barriers and rebounded, resulting in a negative penetration result.“We were excited about the test results,” commented Meridian Chairman and CEO Peter D. Whitford. “No other K4 certified barrier offers the portability, rapid deployment and negative penetration capabilities of the Archer 1000. Our system is uniquely positioned to resist multiple attacks – a new strategy that terrorists are using to breach perimeters.”The Archer 1000 offers flexibility in formations, rapid deployment and ballistic capability. When securing perimeters, speed of deployment is critical as loss of life escalates the longer it takes. The barrier is not set in concrete and can be used on all terrains. An optional ballistic extension plate extends the vertical cover height to six feet, offering additional protection to troops and facilities.About Meridian Rapid Defense GroupMeridian Rapid Defense Group develops products that are engineered for speed of deployment.
