Moose Boats Delivers M2-35 Fire/Rescue Boat To Tiburon Fire Protection District

PETALUMA, CA. – Moose Boats, an aluminum boat manufacturer, recently delivered a M2-35 fire/rescue boat to the Tiburon Fire Protection District of Tiburon, CA. This vessel is a 35’-6” all aluminum catamaran powered by twin Cummins 380hp turbo diesels propelled by Hamilton HJ292 water jets. This boat can attain a top speed of over 35 knots and operates at a service speed of approximately 27 knots. The vessel is outfitted with fire-fighting and dewatering equipment as well as an 84” bench seat for patient care with extensive storage lockers for medical and fire-fighting supplies in the cabin. The M2-35 vessel is fully equipped to mitigate open water emergencies including: search and rescue, medical support and transportation, hazardous material incidents as well as fire suppression, dewatering and dive operations. According to Tiburon Fire District’s Chief Richard Pearce, “the strength of the M2-35 lies in its shallow 22” draft as well as a high degree of maneuverability particularly at lowspeeds during fire-fighting and dewatering incidents.” In addition to fire-fighting on the waterfront, the vessel will support rescue operations and respond to emergencies on Angel Island.Moose Boats has constructed 23 water-jet vessels, of similar design, for the US NAVY and various law enforcement agencies nation-wide. Moose Boats have been chosen because of their fast and stable catamaran hull design coupled with powerful water-jet propulsion, which is well suited to meet mission-specific needs.Tiburon Fire Protection District M2-35 Fire/Rescue Vessel ApplicationThe M2-35 Fire/Rescue boat is a 35’-6” all aluminum catamaran powered by twin Cummins 380hp turbo diesels propelled by Hamilton HJ292 water jets.
