MSA (Mine Safety Appliances Company), Pittsburgh, Pa. In response to the needs of first responders, law enforcement, government agents and facilities managers, MSA Instrument Division announces the arrival of the SafeSite Wireless Gas Detection System. This new system detects and communicates the presence of chemical warfare agents (CWAs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and many toxic industrial chemicals (TICs).
The SafeSite System integrates multiple chemical sensing technologies and wireless communications to provide fast gas detection measurements for deterrence and reaction during a homeland security occurrence. Information displayed at a remote site may be used to evaluate and respond to an event in order to reduce the risk of chemical exposure. With the ability to communicate live readings to the SafeSites SafeCOM Command Center using wireless communication, the SafeSite System provides superior preventative and counter-measure solutions for homeland security.
The MSA SafeSite Hazardous Gas Detection System may be customized to meet each individual sites requirements. Each SafeSite System component can operate individually or be integrated into the entire system. Users are provided with exceptional flexibility to expand this system and incorporate additional measuring devices.
All SafeSite System components are transportable stand-alone units which can be either battery- or line-powered, and can be operated in temporary locations or be permanently mounted. Applications include:
- Emergency Response
- Public Events
- Mass Transit Centers
- Perimeter Monitoring
