Nebraska Fusion Center Selects Memex for Intelligence & Data Sharing Capabilities

STERLING, Va. - Memex, Inc., a leading provider of intelligence management, data sharing, data integration, search and analysis solutions, announced today that the State of Nebraska’s fusion center, the Nebraska Information and Analysis Center (NIAC), has selected Memex to provide information-sharing capabilities to the various law enforcement agencies throughout Nebraska.

Memex is a premier provider of software and services that enable law enforcement agencies to manage and retrieve intelligence preventing all scales of crime.  Its commitment to speed-of-delivery, education, consulting, customer satisfaction and project management has been established to ensure that agencies realize the full potential of its solutions.

Memex defeated a strong field of 10 technology providers to win the procurement.  The contract was awarded to Memex and continues to illustrate Memex’s dominance in the field.  It will provide a platform for intelligence management, information exchange, case management and analytical capabilities.  Some 200 law enforcement officials throughout Nebraska will use the Memex Patriarch platform, connecting 17 different law enforcement data sources through an indexed search of selected data and federated search model.

Among those data repositories are Records Management Systems (RMS), Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Sex-offender Registry, Mug Shot Integration, and Automated Fingerprintentification System (AFIS).  As a result of its compliance with the FBI’s National Data Exchange (NDEX) system, Memex also makes it possible for NIAC and its sister agencies to easily export and share RMS data.

“We live in a world of structured and unstructured data, and the State of Nebraska has very much been living in that world,” said Neil Schlisserman, Vice President of Americas for Memex.  “Now with Memex, Nebraska officials have the opportunity to not only search and make sense of all that data, but also layer process and accountability on top of it.”

Memex has placed a great deal of emphasis on compatibility and compliance with existing law enforcement systems.  Its intelligence platform provides a single-source portal for analyzing RMS, CAD, Intelligence, SAR, open source and other data sources - whether via data integration, federated access, or a hybrid approach. This compatibility empowers analysts and staff the capability to seamlessly examine all the data in one place, using the same data mining tools and user interface, rather than having to log on and off different systems.

“The Memex platform gives us the assurance that we are complying with federal regulations,” said Kevin Knorr, Captain of NIAC.  “The ability to stitch together data from any disparate data sources will accelerate our ability to detect and prevent criminal activities.”
