New York State DHSES Distributes Belt Trauma Kits to Law Enforcement Statewide

Wallingford, CT - Z-Medica, LLC, a leading developer and marketer of hemostatic agents, announces today that their Belt Trauma Kit (BTK+), which includes QuikClot Combat Gauze®, will be standard issue to every law enforcement officer in the State of New York. Distributed by the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES), this initiative represents the largest standardization of advanced first aid kits ever deployed by a state.

The Belt Trauma Kit is designed to fit on an officer’s duty belt and contains Z-Medica’s QuikClot Combat Gauze®, tourniquet, gloves and a CPR shield.

“Our products are battlefield tested, and have been deployed with active military personnel in war zones for years,” stated Z-Medica’s President and CEO Stephen J. Fanning. “Here at home, they have become a standard product in hospitals, law enforcement and emergency services across the country, and we are proud to work with the DHSES to deploy this product to officers throughout the state of New York.”

Training using the BTK+ is being provided by DHSES with support from Z-Medica.
