Now available from MSA: CBRN Upgrade Kits for SCBA in field use

Welcome to Adobe GoLive 6

Pittsburgh, Pa., March 2004 — On March 12, 2004, MSA received NIOSH approval for NFPA 1981-2002 and 1997 edition CBRN SCBA Upgrade Kits. These new upgrade kits will allow you to upgrade your field-deployed MSA MMR SCBA to respiratory protection against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) agents that might be used in a terrorist attack. The performance of this new level of protection is in accordance with the stringent live-agent test regimen of the NIOSH approval process. Understanding how critical this protection is for firefighters and rescue personnel, MSA has designed a simple upgrade process that is quick, easy, and economical. The existing second-stage regulator in your MMR SCBA is replaced with a CBRN-protected Firehawk™ regulator, at any MSA authorized C.A.R.E. facility. Using an easy-to-use ATO (assemble-to-order) matrix will help ensure that customers receive all components necessary to upgrade their SCBA. Thousands of SCBA already deployed in the Fire Service can be upgraded to meet the stringent requirements of the NIOSH CBRN standards for a fraction of the cost of a new SCBA. Firefighters benefit from the added CBRN protection and the enhanced ergonomics of the new Firehawk MMR. The Firehawk MMR is available in either a Slide-to-Connect or Push-to-Connect version for unparalleled ease of use. CBRN Upgrade Kits are now available for NFPA 1981-1997 and -2002 edition MSA MMR Air Masks.
