SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), today announced that the National Security Agency (NSA) has certified a software upgrade for the Sectéra® Black Digital Interface (BDI) terminal. The software upgrade includes enhanced secure data rates for the BDI terminal enabling connectivity to a number of satellite networks including Iridium®, Inmarsat® and Globalstar. The Sectéra BDI terminal is designed to protect Type 1 ified voice and data communications up to the Top Secret level.The Sectéra BDI terminal is a lightweight, compact, portable device that can be used to encrypt voice and data transmissions over satellite and mobile phones as well as other compatible wired and wireless communications terminals. The terminal provides secure data rates of up to 128 Kb/s via landline digital networks when connected to an integrated services digital network (ISDN) adapter. It complies with the U.S. government-sponsored Secure Communications Interoperability Protocol (SCIP) standard.
