KANSAS CITY, MO — Sceptor Industries (www.sceptorindustries.com) has announced OMNI Onsite™, an integrated, portable system for taking air samples and detecting the presence of molds, mycotoxins, or certain bacteria in potentially contaminated buildings, all in two hours or less.“The OMNI Onsite is a collect-detect system for in-field evaluation of bioaerosols,” said Lisa Rogers, Vice President, Commercial. “It gives first responders and IAQ managers a single-unit, on-site solution that is capable of detecting certain fungi, without sending samples to a lab and waiting for a response. This is a breakthrough tool for fast analysis of bioaerosols.”The new collect-detect system is based on the OMNI™ 3000 air sampler with glass contactor. The glass contactor is proven to increase collection efficiency over previous models by a full 15 percentage points to 65% in the crucial 0.5 to1.0 µm particle size range. The OMNI Onsite system includes a choice of detection packages for evaluation of biohazards:
- Fluorometric detection to evaluate total fungal mass
- Immunoassay evaluation of Penicillium/Aspergillus genera and Stachybotrys chartarum
