PROENGIN AP4C Chemical Detector Featured

PROENGIN is targeting toxic industrial chemical/toxic industrial material (TIC/TIM) applications. Emphasizing his company’s commitment to customer service, Mark Reuther, general manager at PROENGIN, highlights the AP4C Chemical and TIMs/TICs Detector’s for its speed and simplicity.

Says Reuther, “The AP4C simultaneously detects for all known and unknown chemical warfare agents, as well as a large group of TIMs/TICs, ultimately reducing the number of detectors necessary for the first responder. It’s not an end-to-end solution but rather fills a particular niche.”

PROENGIN’s AP2C product family uniquely detects thousands of gases, including chemical warfare agents, precursors of those products and degraded versions, such as those manufactured by terrorists groups. An AP2C can detect all these gases simultaneously without quantitative limitations, in a wide

range of temperatures, whatever the level of relative humidity.

“Only the AP2C can detect liquid agents or agents giving no vapor at normal temperature, such as Vx,” says Reuther. “Persistent agents can be detected in the field without requiring sampling and further laboratory analysis.”

The AP2C can be stored for years without requiring any preventive maintenance or regular use. The response time is less than two seconds, allowing a fast detection survey of any surface. “Surfaces that would take 15 minutes with point detectors using other technologies are thoroughly controlled within three minutes,” Reuther says.

The unit requires no memory to feed with a limited number of gases to be searched. Nor does it necessitate a channel pre-selection to determine which type of gas is to be detected.

The AP2C also allows for the connection of an alarm box that will transform the detector into a portable chemical control and alarm device for chemical agents and also compute a dose received during a given period.
