Public Health Emergency Preparedness Professionals to Convene in Atlanta for Nation's Largest Public Health Preparedness Summit

Atlanta, GA – The 3rd annual Public Health Preparedness Summit is the ONE opportunity this year for public health and emergency preparedness professionals to come together, network, and share resources. The agenda is jam-packed with more than 200 workshops, interactive sessions, posters, and round table discussions designed to enhance knowledge, increase professional networks, and leave participants inspired.

Leading experts in public health preparedness will address the evolution and growing threat of global infectious diseases and subsequent challenges faced by local and federal public health practitioners and emergency responders. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director, Julie Gerberding, MD, MPH, is scheduled to provide opening remarks followed by presentations by Dr. Skip Burkle, Senior Scholar, Scientist, and Visiting Professor with The Center for Disaster and Refugee Studies at the Schools of Medicine and Public Health, Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and Richard Preston, PhD, critically acclaimed author of “The Hot Zone.”

Additionally, Summit participants will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with more than 80 exhibitors showcasing products, resources, and training opportunities to advance the practice of public health emergency preparedness.
