Raytheon Opens New Experimentation Center

TEWKSBURY, Mass., -  Raytheon Company’s (NYSE:RTN) Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) officially opened its new experimentation center. TheS Joint Mission experimentation Environment, or JMEE, is designed to be a strategic focal point for design and testing of solution concepts.  It representsS’ hub for innovation and experimentation, accessing and linking capabilities across the business.   At the heart of this experimentation environment is a network of connectivity and facilities that enable collaboration, communication, modeling and simulation that are key to finding optimal solutions for its customers.  “It’s not just about having high tech features,” said Dan Smith,S president. “It’s aboutS stretching to find new solutions for defense and security challenges that our country and our allies face as well as new applications for technologies and expertise traditionally used in defense in other adjacent or altogether new markets.”The JMEE includes a suite of rooms equipped with extensive audio-visual, computer, networking and security capabilities that enables teams to designers, engineers and partners to collaborate on problem solving and complex experimentation working side-by-side or from multiple or distant locations. “The JMEE is designed as an environment to facilitate creative thinking toentify, incubate, and developeas for solutions into practical applications,” said Lee Silvestre, vice president of Mission Innovation.  “The key is to quickly respond to emerging needs in our world with solutions that not only work from a business perspective, but are practical and affordable for our customers.” Demonstrations were conducted to show the JMEE’s potential and capabilities.
