SafetyTech International, Inc Announces Availability of the National Guard WMD Response Kit

Frederick, MD - SafetyTech International, a leader in the design, development and manufacture of powered air purifying respirators, introduces the National Guard WMD Response Kit. Recently selected by FBI SWAT and Hostage Rescue Teams, these powered air systems are NIOSH certified and have been the powered air choice for special operations units within the U.S. Military for several years. SafetyTech was recently awarded a multi-year contract to provide light weight motor blowers to all four branches of the U.S. Military. Now, this compact unit is available to first responders nationwide.

Tight fitting facepieces also known as negative pressure Air Purifying Respirators (APR’s) or Gas Masks can be uncomfortable, and do not provide the level of comfort and user acceptance of a PAPR when responders are performing the strenuous tasks required in response to a CBRN (Chemical Biological Radiological, Nuclear) incident.

Originally developed and deployed to the National Guard WMD Response Teams, This ‘National Guard Kit’ was designed to provide respiratory protection in the event of a WMD incident. The added protection of positive airflow was deemed necessary for completing tasks required such as search, rescue, recovery and decontamination.

The kit contains the Compact C420 PAPR, Breathing Hose, 8 hr mission battery, 2 NiMH rechargeable batteries, a battery charger, Promask full facepiece gas mask, 2 NBC combination filter cartridges, an Air Flow Indicator and a Decon Web Belt, housed in a rugged blow molded carrying case for protection and quick access.
