Simulation Education Services (SES), the University of Texas and St. Louis University have designed a special Desktop exercise and assessment service that is built around the grant deliverables from both the CDC and HRSA grants. Scenarios include pandemic flu, Anthrax Small Pox, dirty bomb and natural disasters. All exercises are conducted via Internet and audio conferencing and are compliant with Joint Commission and HSEEP standards.
Exercises ordered by May 15, 2007 can be delivered with complete After Action Reports by August 31, 2007 in compliance with the grant requirements.
Desktop exercise, due to the convenience of having the participating response professionals remain in their office or EOCs, have garnered high satisfaction ratings and have not contributed to "exercise exhaustion" as experience with on-site Tabletop drills. Also, because of the convenience of Desktop exercises, a large number of top executives and managers from the prominent response organizations actually participate in the drill. With that participation, you will get a much more assessment of the capabilities of the entire response network.
Response assessment professionals at St. Louis University collect and analyze over 600 data points designed around the CDC and HRSA competencies and capabilities lists.
