Simulation Education Services (SES) Announces Regional Interoperative Communications Exercise (RICE)

Simulation Educations Services (SES), a nationally recognized company dedicated to improving emergency preparedness and operational resiliency of healthcare and business organizations, has introduced Regional Interoperative Communications Exercises (RICE) in full compliance with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) 2009 Funding Guidance Documents. Applications which are due by January 13, 2009, should include funding for conducting interoperable emergency communications-specific training and exercises prior to the expenditure of funds for communications equipment. SES is pleased to offer a turn-key approach to these DHS requirements through the provision of RICE exercises. Our cost-effective solutions include best practices to ensure compliance with all State and Federal Guidelines that include Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) and National Incident Management Systems (NIMS). These RICE Exercises are functional exercises that provide multiple agencies and jurisdictions in a region the opportunity to assess their interoperative communications capabilities and operations. Critical elements of communications between hospitals, county / city EOCs, regional coordination agencies, volunteer organizations and state level agencies are evaluated through EM Resources, Web EOC, telephone and radio communications. The goal of these exercises is to assess the ability of the region to effectively communicate during a simulated mass casualty event. For More Information SES is ready and prepared to offer a turn-key approach to your requirements to enhance existing training, to include an interoperable emergency communications component, and to plan and conduct communications-specific exercise workshops or conferences through our RICE Exercises. Please contact Michael Garvin from Simulation Education Services (SES) at 1-515-321-7000 or at mgarvin@simulationed.com for more information on these exercises.
