Thales Achieves CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Maturity Level 3 Rating

CLARKSBURG, Md.,  - Thales Communications, Inc., announces the achievement of Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI®) Maturity Level 3 for both Systems Engineering and Software Engineering. This rating encompasses all of Thales Communications including project management, systems engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, quality assurance, and purchasing.The CMMI Model, developed by the Carnegie Mellon® Software Engineering Institute (SEI), represents industry best practices for developing products and services. The CMMI Model encompasses five different levels of process achievement: Initial, Managed, Defined, Quantitatively Managed, and Optimizing. Thales’ achievement of Level 3 (Defined) represents a significant accomplishment and provides a solid foundation for continual process improvement.The appraisal team included two lead appraisers from ProcessWorks, Inc., an SEI-licensed partner for SCAMPISM (Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement) appraisal services. The team employed the SCAMPI A appraisal method, which is a highly rigorous method providing the most reliable and repeatable rating results of the SCAMPI methods.
