FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THE KATRINA RECONSTRUCTION SUMMITMonday, September 26,  20058:30 am – 12:30  pm902 Senate Hart Building - Washington, DC Equity International invites you to attend The Katrina Reconstruction Summit on Monday, September 26, beginning promptly at 8:30 am in room 902 of the Hart Senate Office Building, in  Washington DC. The Katrina Reconstruction Summit is hosted by U.S. Senator Mel Martinez, and organized by Equity International, and is designed to bring together government leaders, business leaders, and reconstruction experts who will discuss details of the $62.3 billion passed by Congress for Katrina relief and reconstruction.  In addition, the briefing will address the specifics of Katrina relief and reconstruction programs; economic infrastructure reconstruction priorities, including energy, housing, healthcare, and other sectors; creating jobs; building small business; and corporate philanthropy. The Opening Address will be provided by The Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr., President of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, who has led recent humanitarian efforts in the Gulf Region.
