  • The Township of West Orange, New Jersey, has selected Harris Corporation and Eastern Communications to upgrade the township’s radio system to a P25IP (Project 25 to the Power of Internet Protocol) 800 MHz communication system.
  • The new Harris system will alleviate network congestion and improve coverage for first responders in the township, while leveraging legacy equipment from the previous system to minimize capital expenses and maximize available resources.
  • The Harris P25IP communication system is part of the VIDA (Voice, Interoperability, Data, Access) network platform, which will enable the system to adapt to future technologies and standards.
  • The system will enable interoperable communications capabilities for the Township with state, regional or county P25 networks through ISSI (Inter Sub-System Interface) software to coordinate efforts in the event of a large-scale emergency.
