DHS has more to do to implement GAO (Government Accountability Office) recommendations aimed at better ensuring that US-VISIT is maximizing its potential for success and holding itself accountable for results.

Defense Support to Civil Authorities: WMD/E Consequence Management is a
supplemental handbook that presents an appreciation of U.S. military forces and their roles as part of DoD support to Federal emergency-response in a terrorist WMD/E incident.
The DHS S&T Directorate is working to improve its management controls to
help guard against conflicts of interest for its IPA portfolio managers, GAO says, but it can do more.
GAO is recommending that the Secretary direct FAMS to improve management controls for recording, tracking, and addressing mission incidents and communicating the outcome of actions taken to address them.
